Quick and Easy Flannel Blanket

I happen to find some cute flannel in the clearance section of a local fabric store. I decided it was big enough to make a baby blanket out of it. So I found some fabric for the front that matched and away I went. I did not put any batting in it due to the fact that the recipient lives in a hot climate but I did stitch around the border on the front to tack everything together and keep it from moving. I also love the little flower in the corner to match the fabric on the back.

I love simple projects that turn out great!

Orange Circle Skirt

So I finished this skirt around the same time as my last circle skirt only I wasn't completely satisfied. I used the circle skirt tutorial from MADE. Something just wasn't working with this one. I then figured it out...It needed something to break it up. So I added some ribbon about 2 1/2 inches from the bottom and I like the skirt a lot more now. Now I think I can wear it!

Trick or Treat Bag

I have had some Halloween fabric panels tucked away for some time now. I have been meaning to make a trick-or-treat bag for my son but I just haven't gotten around to it until now. This was a simple pattern and I love the way the panel of turned out on the bag. I ended up cutting the panel in half and used half for the front and half for the back. Super simple. My son does have some growing to do before he can totally fit the bag but at least I know it will get used for years to come!

Altering a Knit Shirt

I have a few shirts that could use some taking in just so they look right. This coral colored shirt was one of them. I hated the way it didn't fit right and it was baggy in places it shouldn't have been for the design of the shirt. So I decided to change that.

I took one of my knit shirts that fit really well and laid it on top of my coral shirt (Which is inside out for this process). I then pinned down the sides to mark where it should be.

From there I sewed close to the pins, just a straight stitch. Took out all the pins and tried it on to make sure it was the fit I wanted. Then it was good to go.

Now it fits just perfect and you can't tell that I left the extra fabric on the sides so I didn't trim it after sewing. I am going to have to try this process on a few other shirts now that I know that it works!

Easy Menu Board

I have seen tons of menu boards around blog land and I have been tempted to try some but haven't had a lot of time lately. So I ran to my local craft store and found a simple wood frame that I painted black. They also had a dry erase calendar that I placed some scrapbooking paper behind to finish it off.

I am the type of person that plans the whole month in advance and then has the dry ingredients on hand for the whole month and if I don't like what I wrote down that day I still have the ingredients to make it another day. I only go shopping every two weeks for the other ingredients. It make my life so much easier. This board has been working wonders for me!
