Easter Jumper

I have been trying to use what fabric I have already to make some things. I decided I could get a jumper for my niece out of a scrap of fabric I had. So I got some measurements from my sister and came up with my own pattern. The jumper is size 6-9 months and my sister said it fit perfectly.

I even got to test my button hole maker on my sewing machine, it made it so easy that I only had to line things up and push the pedal! Makes me want to make lots of button holes because it is just that awesome!

Who doesn't need a bow to match too!

Fabric Easter Baskets

When I was growing up we had hand made Easter baskets. Each of us had a different gingham color. Mine happened to be orange. Me at age 2 or 3 with my Easter basket

For my sons first Easter I wanted to have some Easter baskets like the ones I grew up with. So my mom made my son and I baskets (This was before I got into sewing).

So here is mine: (Pink and blue)The nice thing about these is they fold flat for storage. You just untie the corner ribbons and it falls flat. Here it is all tied up without grass in itHere is my sons: (Green and blue)
I love that my mom was willing to make these for us. She also doesn't just use the baskets for Easter. She has made some similar to put bread in to give to neighbors at the holidays. I love them!

Easter Wood Projects

I was itching for an easy project that wouldn't take very long so I headed down with my mom to The Wood Connection. I haven't been in quite a while and they had a bunch of new items. I picked up a few projects including this Easter kit.

I love how each turned out. My mom bought the same kit so we got together the other night and had fun painting them together. She isn't quite finished with hers yet but I was able to get mine finished and up. I still may tweak some of them as the season goes on. There are a few things I am not sure on but I still love them. While I was there I also picked up this little guy. This took me a while longer to complete. You are probably wondering why since it is so easy, well because of all the snow where I live I haven't been able to spray a finish on it. I really dislike snow! But we got this one done.

I picked up one more set of projects that my mom and I will get together to do in the next few weeks. It's about time we had another girls night!

Spring/Easter Topiary

So I decided to create another cupcake liner topiary. I found some cute flower cupcake liners at Joann's which turned out to be great. It is nice to have some Spring things around the house for a change!
