In my hair flower overload post I had posted some of these flowers. They are easy to make just time consuming. I needed to make another to attempt and easier way to put them together and so I thought I would show you the process as I recreated them.
So you start with 1/8 yard of satin for two. I bought 1/4 yard of satin and only used half of it so I would think 1/8 yard would be plenty. I cut out a template of a flower on the Cricut and started tracing them on the non-shiny side of the satin. You will need 9 flowers for one clip.
Cut them all out.
Then melt the edges of the fabric.
They should look like this:
Fold them in half and then in half again so that it looks like this:
Grab a needle and thread and knot the end of the thread. Then starting with one flower stick the needle through the tip and pull through
The next layer has three flower and then I tack them down to each other. Next layer has five flowers.
Then I tack all of that layer together and tie off the end.
Flip over and fluff a little and add to a clip of your choice. I have seen these worn both in the hair and on a shirt but really the possibilities are endless.
Here are some other colors I made. (Once again these were all for my sisters girls, they love them!)
**Side note on the denim one. The technique shown above didn't work so I had to try something different. So I still folded them into quarters but then just strung them all on the thread facing the same way and then pushed the needle into the first one I strung on the thread and pulled to make a circle. I tied off the thread and then glued it down to felt and then to a clip.
