Back in September my son outgrew his toddler bed and received a full sized bed. When I first moved in I told myself that I would do his room grown up when that process happened. Little did I know that would be when he was 2 1/2. So I had to create a room that could grow with him.
He had a crib that would convert to a full sized bed so I just picked up a mattress. I loved his crib bedding so I decided to start with finding something similar and picking my wall colors from that. Only problem is that I couldn't find anything to match so I made my own bedding to match his crib bedding and picked my wall colors from there. Here is the before:
Here is the after:
Picture of the comforter, you can see the post about it here.
This frame replaced his other poster sized frame (which had every picture we had of him and his father together) which hung above the changing table. (A little history about it: my husband was killed on his way home from work when my son was 4 months old so I feel it is important for him to have pictures of the two of them in his room. I decided to grow it up a little bit from the big huge one and classy it up a bit so it can grow with him)
I made pillow shams to match his bedspread.
The other side of the room
I moved the boxes to the other side of the room. I repainted them brown instead of the red they were.
This if the before of the window seat:
This is after: I adjusted the curtain to have a sleeve for the rod instead of tabs
I also added some pillows out of the same fabric as his comforter for a little reading nook. There is a basket on the seat for library books to read at night before going to bed.
My son absolutely loves his room and has adjusted to the change really well.

cute transformation! Still so sweet but definately a room for a little boy not a baby. Great job! I am your newest follower. Feel free to hook up to my weekend review link party which opens tomorrow. Have a great day!

Looks amazing!! I love all those colors! The bedding is fab!
I love the bedspread! This room is just amazing. I love having rooms decorated with something sentimental and not just 'sports' because it's a boys room! I am working on my DS#2 room. With 4 boys total I am breaking away from the typical blue. You have to be an amazing lady!!!
