Balloon Wreath

I found this balloon wreath idea over at The Creative Homemaker and knew I had to make one. It sounded so fun to hang out on the door when there was a birthday at our house. It was super easy too. I used a foam wreath instead of a straw one like she used but it worked out just as good.

So you take your u shaped floral pins and loop a balloon underneath the middle of it and stick it into the wreath. You pin as many balloons as you want. I did 7 bags of 75 balloons in each bag to get the fullness that I wanted. I then took curling ribbon and curled it and then looped the middle of the ribbon in the middle of the floral pin and stuck them all over the wreath. This is what it turned out like. So fun and festive to hang on your door on a family members birthday. In fact it goes up tomorrow in my house for my little boy.

Diaper Cake

My sister-in-law just had her third baby and I wanted to do something for her. This was her third boy so we thought she might like some new things for this baby. So myself and all the rest of the sisters joined in and did a diaper cake. I put it all together and included a blanket that I made. I love the way it turned out being my first and it gives me a lot of good ideas for future ones.

We included a blanket, rubber duck, two outfits, soap, lotion and two packages of Huggies size 1 diapers

Easy Tutu

My nieces birthday is coming up and she loves anything girly so I decided to make her a dress and a tutu. The dress I haven't started but the tutu is finished and I love it. It is huge too. It makes me sad that I don't have a little girl to dress up. Boy things are fun too but I love the lace and bows of girls.

Tutu's are super easy. I bought some 1 inch wide elastic and cut it about a half inch bigger than her waist and then did a zigzag stitch to attach the two sides together. I overlapped each side by a half an inch so that the tutu size was 1/2 in. smaller than her waist. I used 3 different colors of tulle at 2 yards each. I cut them into 6 inch strips at about 14 inches long. Then repeating each color I tied them onto the elastic and tight so that they won't come undone. That is it, super easy! You can see a little bit here of how I attached the tulle. I just looped the tulle onto the elastic and pulled tight.
