I found this countdown on Scribble It's website and loved it. So I ordered a kit and made it. It turned out great. Now if I can remember to change it everyday!

Feeling the Snow
I wanted some decorations around the house that I could keep up after Christmas was done. So I went again to The Wood Connection and found these.

Minky Blanket #2
My friend just had a baby boy so I knew that I needed to make another Minky Blanket. This one turned out super cute. I really like the yellow.

Snowmen Ornaments
Every year we decorate our tree with snowflakes and snowmen. I made Popsicle stick snowflakes with blue buttons last year and so this year I decided to make snowmen. I saw these square bulbs and the idea to turn them into other things at a local craft store. I had the thought to do the snowmen. So I bought a package of 6 bulbs and enough beads to fill them. For the hats I used baby mittens (the kind you use so they don't scratch their faces) and then just glued them on top.
I must warn you though that the bulbs are very fragile and I broke two trying to get the mitten on the top. Not fun to have little beads flying all over the place. So we were super careful with the rest and they turned out great.

Christmas Wreaths
I have been trying to figure out what to put on my front door for the holiday season. I saw this bulb wreath on tons of craft blogs and loved it. So I went and bought everything. Turns out it is too big to fit in between my screen door and door.
So I had to come up with a plan B. So this is what I made instead. I just bought the berry bunches and cut them up and stuck them in a wreath. Super easy!

Jean Blanket
I finally finished the jean blanket I was working on. After loosing my husband I knew that I wanted to save all his jeans and make a blanket out of them for my son. I thought I would give it to him for Christmas, so I started asking around on the best way to do it. My sister-in-law's mother makes them all the time and made me some templates that would make a full sized blanket. I had just enough of his jeans to make just that. The templates were 9x9 squares and a 9x18 rectangle.
So I started by going through all the jeans and cutting out what I needed.
Then I laid them all out to make sure that the wash in the jeans were not close to each other.
Once I got all of the individual pieces sewn together, I then worked on attaching all the strips together.
Part way done.
The top is all finished.
Then I attached the fabric on the back. Sorry no photos. I just bought material that went and sewed it to fit a full sized blanket. I then cut out batting to fit and sewed it so that I had a small binding on the jean part. Then I tied it. I know it is backwards to most but that is how I have always done them, sew first then tie. Maybe someday I will do it the other way.
My dear sister came and helped me tie it. We ended up putting the ties in the middle of each 9x9 square. If it fell on a pocket we put the tie on the inside of the pocket. That way my son still had access to the pockets for storing hit collections of whatever he can find.
